According to the Norsemen, this region receives its name due to the fact that before the Great Flood, this land was the center of Mannheim. The capital city who bears the same name as it’s region is one of the few cities with an Intact Rune Stone and has become as of late the target of many attacks by Loki’s minions and other forces such as Alukhais and dragons.
Common Knowledge
This region is a bit warmer than the others since they possess the Kenaz Rune Stone and with it they somewhat keep the harsh cold at bay.
Regional Features
Midmork: They main forest in this region, Midmork is home to many dangerous creatures such as trolls, dragons, elemental spirits, wendigos, etc. Despite all the dangers that roam within, the villagers must cross it in other to get to virtually any other village.
Aldranarihrid: This small city lies in southeast of middengeard. Over the past century, Aldranarihrid has evolved into a fortified military base, defending against the dragons that occasionally fly from the dragon isles.
Fellheim: One of the main port cities in Middengeard. Most of its citizens are fishermen or hunters who go deep into Midmork to hunt for food and supplies.
Herorheim: Is one of the main port cities and perhaps one of the most well guarded in all Middengeard
Kastaliborg: This city is known as the Castle Fortress or Castle town since the majority of its populace is trained for battle in other to defend the capital city from attacking forces.
Middengeard: The region's capital is a wealthy city, home to the region’s noble families and merchant houses. The mightiest of jarls originate from this great city and great warriors are trained to defend the ancient Rune Stone.
Orugrr: Famous for its raiding warriors, this city serves as a stronghold against invading forces. The city sits against sheer cliffs, making its geography as abrupt and intimidating as its people.
Logrheim. This small village is home to powerful Viking warriors, however their lack of organization has made them victim of many raids.
Steinngard: The city of Steinngard once belonged to dwarves but it was given to the Norsemen as an apology for killing their king centuries ago. This city now serves as the frontier between Middengeard and the Jarjall region, if the Jarl from Jarjall fails to defend itself from invading forces, Steinngard must prevail.
Vidirgala: This city servers as the main trading port between Middengeard and the Nervii isles. Here many Gauls train with the Vikings and those who prove worth are sometimes given the title of Carl within the region.
People of Middengeard
The brave and noble folk of Middengeard are justly proud of their centuries-old kingdom, seeing their Land as a redoubt of sanity in a world gone mad. Middengeard’s citizens are fiercely loyal to Thorgrim, their king and his house. Although the majority of the population is human, dwarves and halflings are not uncommon, and their numbers are increasing as commerce strengthens Middengeard’s ties with Jthe dwarven kingdoms.
